Dr. Ashok Rajgopal is a distinguished Orthopaedic Surgeon with extensive experience in joint replacement, knee surgery and sports injury management. He is widely recognised for his contributions to the advancement of minimally invasive and technology-assisted orthopaedic surgery in India. Among his notable achievements are performing India's first bilateral total knee replacement surgery and pioneering minimally invasive total knee replacement procedures. He was also among the early surgeons to adopt patient-specific instrumentation and gender-specific knee implants in India. Dr. Rajgopal has performed more than 39,000 total knee replacement surgeries and over 60,000 arthroscopic surgeries for sports injuries. His interest in innovation extends to implant and instrument design, and he has been involved in the development of advanced knee replacement systems and specialised instruments for minimally invasive surgery. He has also contributed to orthopaedic education, research and surgical training and has received several national and international recognitions for his contribution to the field.
