Dr. Gourdas Choudhuri is a highly respected Gastroenterologist, Hepatologist, medical educator and researcher with more than four decades of experience in the field of Gastroenterology and Hepatobiliary Sciences. He currently serves as Chairman – Gastroenterology at Fortis Memorial Research Institute (FMRI), Gurugram.

He has extensive expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of liver diseases, hepatitis, cirrhosis, fatty liver disease and gastrointestinal disorders. His clinical practice also includes advanced therapeutic endoscopy and the management of complex gastrointestinal conditions.

Dr. Choudhuri has made significant contributions to the advancement of Gastroenterology in India. His professional work has included the introduction and advancement of sophisticated techniques such as Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) and Extra-Corporeal Shockwave Lithotripsy (ESWL) for biliary disease. He has also been actively involved in medical education, research and public health awareness.

He has held leadership positions within the medical community, including serving as President of the Indian Society of Gastroenterology.
